Message at the Beginning of the Year
Gautama Buddha, January 1, 2007
I AM Gautama Buddha having come to you again on this day, at the beginning of a yearly cycle.
Every time when a new yearly cycle starts we come to give you instructions related to this new time cycle. And I have come today to give such an instruction.
You know that a yearly cycle is subject to the Law of Karma in such a way that karma is dispensed not at one time but is disbursed throughout the entire year. Every month you get a definite karma dispensation. This way you can exhaust your past karma gradually, year after year, month after month. If you were given a chance to work out at once all of your karma, all your negative energy that was distorted in your previous lives, you would not be able to stand it. Your bodies would momentarily burst into shreds. That is why the Law of Karma acts so that at every moment of your life you can cope with exactly the amount of negative energy of the past that you can handle. And that is why you are required to resign yourself to the Law of this Universe and humbly wait for returning of the karmic energy that you had created yourselves and that is dispensed to you in cycles to be exhausted.
A new year can be tentatively considered a beginning of work with yet another layer of your energy from the past. With every successful year you diminish your previous karma and approach a new level of consciousness. If not for a new karma that you are tirelessly creating, a few years would be enough to get rid of the huge portion of your old karma. Not all of you cleverly dispose of your divine energy and the time of your current incarnation. So, for many of you, that amount of negative energy, which you work out through your sufferings, diseases and sorrows, is immediately replenished by a new karma that you are constantly producing by wrong actions and wrong choices in your lives. And if not for the Divine mercy, you would have been completely deprived of the opportunity of any progress because of that huge karma that many of you are creating in your lives. Due to Divine mercy this karma is not returned to you right away but is waiting for an auspicious opportunity when you will be able to cope with the negative energy of the past and not only stand your karmic burden but also start reflecting why so many misfortunes visit you at the same time. This way, many of you are able to realize that there is the Supreme Law and you may rush ahead with all your heart to fulfill this Law.
Many of you have achieved such a level of consciousness that they address the Karmic Board with requests to expedite dispensation of their personal karma so they can work out the maximum amount of karma in this life and get the possibility to serve on a new level of consciousness free from karma. The only thing that I would like to warn you about is the following: after you have written such letters and your karma accelerates, do not forget what you have asked about and do not complain of your destiny. The matter is that the process of faster karma dispensation, after it has been intensified upon your request, can also be, per your request, slowed down and brought back to its natural course. Do not forget your petitions, and if you got too excited and overrated your strength, write another letter to the Karmic Board and ask to not accelerate the process of returning your karma in future.
Very many of you do not realize those obligations, which you undertook when you were in the subtle body, on the level of your soul. So, when you run into difficulties in your life and such difficulties strongly upset and overpower you - think, talk to your Supreme I, ask for advice. Due to great mercy of Heavens, you can regulate the process of your karma dispensation. It is especially important if you have a good karma created by helping living beings and Masters. Your favorable karma can always be used for diminishing the intensity of your Karmic burden. When you have realized how the Law of Karma works and you try to live your life according to this Law then you are performing one of the most important conditions of your evolution, and the Heavenly mercy will come to help you upon your first call.
Pitiful are those individuals who ignore the Law of Karma and continue to live by the principle: "I don't care what happens after I am gone". (Lord Buddha quotes the Russian proverb that can be interpreted as: "After I am gone, anything can happen, even the Flood", French equivalent of which is: "apres moi le deluge"- translator's commentary). You should contemplate this expression of yours. Maybe in your next life you will get into the flood you will have drawn down on you. Think about it: how many misfortunes and problems people could avoid if they thought about consequences of not only their actions but also consequences of their thoughts and feelings. One of the objectives of our messages is exactly this one: to teach you to be aware of your every action, every thought and feeling. Because there are no secrets for God, for the cosmic Law, and all your thoughts are recorded in akasha chronicles the same way as your conduct and actions are. You can be hypocritical with one another and hide your true motives and negative thoughts. God sees everything; you cannot hide the tiniest movement of your soul from Him.
It wouldn't be bad if you made it a rule to constantly feel the presence of some invisible witness next to you watching closely all your deeds and even movements of your soul. Then you would more responsibly approach everything you do and all the choices that you make in your life.
I would like to give you a very important advice, following which you will be able to quickly increase the percentage of your exhausted karma. Every time when you face a choice, try to understand the motive that guides you in this choice. If you are trying to do something for your personal benefit, it is a wrong motive and the result of your choice will increase your karmic burden. If in your choices you are guided by the motive to do something good for other people, other living beings, then, even if it seems that your choice can cause you some damage and is not worthy according to any human law and from the point of view of ordinary human logic - don't get upset. From the point of view of the Divine logic, you have made a right choice and this choice will inevitably bring release of your karmic burden. You lose a little, but gain a lot. For example, you are driving on a mountain road and a person appears on the road, who needs your help. You are spending your time helping this person and it slows you down: the sun is setting and you are lagging behind your schedule. But if you don't yield to annoyance, tomorrow a new road will open up for you of which you did not know and this road will be a shortcut to your destination. And you will get there even earlier than you planned.
This is how the Law of Karma works.
Never think of the benefits that you will get from your good deeds. Your karmic debts and accomplishments should be counted by those heavenly Intelligences whose duty it is to do so - let them take care of such matters. Simply do good deeds and do not think about rewards.
I am glad to have reminded you at the beginning of the year of the Supreme Law existing in this Universe. And I hope that I have done it, as always, right on time.
I AM Gautama Buddha!
